Q: What if I don't have a domain name?
A: You will need to find one through a domain name registrar. The cost varies but a $35 per year charge is typical. (The more names you reserve and/or the more years you reserve them for, the price drops.) Here is a link to the ICANN-Accredited Registrars.

Q: What if I already have a domain name?
A: You will need to change your DNS (Domain Name Server) to us at the addresses below.

Login to your registrar account and make the change. If they do not have a login account for you, send them an e-mail.

It takes 24 to 48 hours for the new DNS to be propagated after the request has been made. Please be patient.... it's a BIG Internet!

Q: What are your DNS server addresses?
A: The address you need takes the form:

ns1.ragemeister.com   72.249.26.15
ns2.ragemeister.com   72.249.26.16
 

Q: Are their any setup fees?
A: No.

Q: How long does it take to setup my account?
A: Normally accounts are setup within 24 hours. We will need payment before it is activated however.

Remember, setting up an account is different than setting up your website or reserving a domain name. The website is your responsibility. Once you have a domain name, the DNS (Domain Name Server) must be changed.

Q: How can I pay for hosting?
A: Check or money order made out to: Sierra Horizons, Inc., to  2871 Sierra Manor Drive, Minden, NV  89423-8854.

Q: Can I use my account for commercial purposes?
A: Yes!  Please also see our Terms of Service page.

Q: How do I cancel my account?
A: Send an Email to support here. include your username and password.

Q: What if I go over my Accounts disk space limit?
A: We will let you know and talk about it. We are family... we can resolve this.

Q: I am approaching my monthly bandwidth limit on my account. What will happen if I hit the limit?
A: You will receive a warning email about the limit, Our overage charges are $5 per GB.

Q: Why do my CGI scripts give me errors all the time?
A: Make sure they are in the cgi-bin and have the correct permissions (755).

Q: How do I create customized error pages for my account?
A: When you FTP into your account you will see a directory called 'error_docs' and in there is the html files for each error condition. Edit these to change whatever you like.

Q: What is Ensim?
A: Ensim is a web based control panel system aimed at making the user more in control of their own hosting/mail accounts.

Q: How do I access my Ensim control panel?
A: To access control panel you just need to put /admin on the end of your domain.
      Example: www.mydomain.com/admin


Q: How can my additional users manage their accounts?
A: For your additional users to access their control panel they need to put /user on the end of your domain.
       Example: www.mydomain.com/user


Q: Where are my website statistics located?
A: To access your website statistics just add /stats to the end of your domain.
       Example: www.mydomain.com/stats


Q: Can I send and receive email over the web?
A: Yes you can! To access your webmail account just add /squirrelmail to the end of your domain.
Example: www.mydomain.com/squirrelmail


Q: How can I SSH into my account?
A: Using an SSH client such as Putty you can SSH to yourdomain.com and login with the following:
username#domain.com and normal password (please note the # not @)


Q: I keep receiving unsolicited email 'SPAM' in my account. What should I do?
A: Please report this to the following email address: support@tahoeview.com

Q: Where can I find your acceptable use policy or terms of service (TOS)?
A: Our TOS is available here.

Q: I'm having problems SSH'ing into my account. What may be wrong?
A: Please make sure you're using # symbol for your username and NOT a @ symbol.
Example: username#mydomain.com


Q: How do I contact support if I have a problem?
A: In the first instance we recommend you send an email to support@tahoeview.com 

Q: What is the path to perl?
A: /usr/bin/perl

Q: What is the path to sendmail?
A: /usr/sbin/sendmail

Q: My Vbulletin admin page doesn't work, why not?
A: Ensim takes any address with /admin on the end and loads the control panel.

To access your vbulletin admin area you need to use the full path:
http://domain.com/forum/admin/index.php (with index.php on the end)
